As a foreigner living in the US, sometimes it is very hard to understand the gun culture here and people's love for guns despite the violence it causes. It almost seems paradoxical sometimes; people buy more guns because of mass shootings to protect themselves, and there are more shootings because there are more guns circulating in society. It seems like a vicious cycle that this country could not mentally break out of. With this illustration, I simply want to seek to understand the visceral appeal of firearm and look behind the many cultural identities and arguments behind it.
